Herb's — same-day and next-day couriers in Bangor, North Wales

“Sometime today” is not a delivery time.

We move parcels, pallets and paperwork out of Bangor. Same day across North Wales, next day to the mainland. One driver, one van, one price agreed before the wheels turn.

Booked before 11am? Usually collected the same morning.
Mon–Fri 07:00–19:00 · Sat 08:00–14:00
Written quote before we collect. The quote is the price.

The bit couriers get wrong

Four things we do differently from the depot lot.

Most failed deliveries in North Wales aren't failures of driving. They're failures of a sorting hub three hours away that has never seen your customer's front door.

01

A time, not a window

You get a collection time and a delivery time. If we're going to miss one, you hear it from us before your customer does.

02

The same van, the whole way

Nothing gets tipped out at a hub and sorted overnight by someone who has never been to Bangor. What we load is what comes off the tail-lift.

03

Proof on every drop

Timestamped photo, the door it went to, the name of whoever took it. Sent to you, not buried behind a tracking login.

04

Priced before we move

A written quote, fuel included. No surcharge invented after the run, no waiting time you never agreed to.

Why this business exists

We started because the hub model kept failing people we knew.

Herb — loading out, Bangor

Herb drove for a national network for eleven years. Decent money, decent routes, and two final years spent standing on doorsteps apologising for decisions made two hundred miles away.

The turning point was a Tuesday in February. A pallet of stock for a shop on Bangor high street sat in a hub near Warrington for nine days while the tracking page cheerfully said “in transit”. The shop lost a fortnight of trade. Nobody rang them once, and the compensation form ran to four pages.

So we bought a van and started doing it the boring way instead. Collect it, keep it in the van, deliver it, and ring the customer the moment anything changes. That is the whole business model. It isn't clever, it's just what the big networks stopped being able to afford.

Today the work is mostly local: shops and trade counters between Caernarfon and Colwyn Bay, solicitors' offices that need a bundle in Chester by four, and businesses on Anglesey that have given up on next-day promises from anyone else.

What we won't take on

No house removals, no single item that needs two people to lift, and no booking we don't believe we can hit. There are other couriers in Bangor and we will happily tell you which one to ring, because a late delivery with our name on it costs us more than the job was worth.

Prices are a guide and include fuel. Mileage beyond 15 miles is charged at £1.30 a mile and appears on the quote, not on the invoice as a surprise. Every job is quoted in writing before we collect, and that quote holds for 30 days.

Four steps, no account required.

Ring or send the form

Tell us what it is, where it's going and when it has to be there. If it's urgent, ring — the phone is answered in the cab.

Quote in writing

You get a price by email or text, usually within the hour on a working day. Accept it and the slot is yours.

We collect

Same driver, same van, from your door. Anything fragile gets strapped and blanketed before we pull away.

Proof lands with you

Photo, time and the name of whoever signed, sent straight to you. Invoice follows on the last working day of the month.

Where we actually go

Same-day is North Wales. Next-day is everywhere else.

Same-day work runs from the towns below and out along the A55 in both directions. Next-day parcels and pallets go anywhere on the UK mainland, including the Highlands with an extra day.

Got something that has to be there

Tell us the deadline. We'll tell you straight if we can hit it.

Most quotes go out within the hour between seven and seven. If it's leaving today, the phone is quicker than the form.

Nothing here is a hard sell. Send the details and you'll get a number back, even if the answer is that another firm is better placed for it.

Thanks — we'll come back with a price within one working day, and a lot sooner if you sent it during van hours. If it's leaving today, ring 07853 151 457 and it gets sorted on the phone.
